At Puerto Natales Rodovario bus station 07.15, their check in window opened 07.25 for the 08.00 and a second 08.10 bus. Very busy but they got everyone on board and away by 08.10. Very promising. Quite comfortable, had booked front seats upstairs for potential viewings to El Calafate. Until the last 20 km there is no view. .Both passport controls were reasonably quick. Still good progress. Then progress was slow, very safe, very slow such that even with only one 15 minute food and drink stop we arrived at 15.15, a good 90 minutes late. So good service, poor timekeeping.

The bus ride overall was ok however we did pay a lot of money £176each! My husband’s chair was broken in that it did not stay upright. Initially we got a bottle of water, ham and cheese sandwich and snack. The temperature on the bus was fine until the evening when the aircon was switched on and it was really very cold. It was a 25 hour bus ride so I was cold for about 19 hours! The toilet was kept clean although the tap had no water and there was not always toilet paper.. The usb ports only worked for a some of the time. Good WiFi using starlink.

First of all, check-in at the booth should be clearly marked somewhere at the departure gate so that people can be served on a first-come, first-serve basis. We arrived 3 hours earlier than depature but ended up checking in at about 10th spot in the line. The other thing is the starting time of checking in. It did not get started until like 15 minutes prior to departure. Since there were quite a few passengers, the check-in process did not finish before the scheduled departure time, directly causing the delay in actually departure time. The ride was very smooth, however, it was extremely slow on unpaved roads. As a result, there was like 20 minutes delay in terms of arrival time, which was not expected. I don't know why other busses can do the same route in 5 hours instead of over 6 hours. Other than that, everything was enjoyable.
