If you are arriving in Barcelona by bus, chances are you will be coming into Estació del Nord Barcelona, or Nord Station. This neoclassical style building is one of the city's most beautiful structures, and serves as the main terminus for long and medium-distance buses in the city.

Nord has all the amenities and services you would expect from a major bus station, including lockers, tourist information, lost and found, shops and restaurants, and cash machines. It is also well connected to the rest of Barcelona by public transport.

A former railway station, Barcelona Nord was turned into a coach terminal in 1972. The station occupies only a portion of the building, with two other areas used as a police station and a sports hall which was a venue for the 1992 Summer Olympics.

The station is known for being well signaled, equipped with information panels and having an information center, which can help with anything you need to know about your journey.

The best way to travel to or from the station is by taking the metro, as there are two metro stations within walking distance of five minutes to Barcelona Nord Station. Arc de Triomf and Marina station. Both are served by the red line (L1) and are good options to get to or from the bus station.

Depending on where you're coming from or going, bus lines nearby can take you to different parts of the city. You can also find taxis nearby or hop on a Uber.

Working hours

Although its working hours are from 05:15h to 00:30h, the station has a small waiting room for passengers that might have a bus outside this time, with a vending machine, bathroom and information panels.

A few different bus companies operate out of Barcelona Nord Estacio, including Alsa, Avanza, Sarfabus, Vibasa and Flixbus.

While you wait for your bus, you can sit back and relax in air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and free bathrooms. You can also find different services around the station, like restaurants and cafes, and ATMs if you need cash.

Just outside the station, you can also easily find a small supermarket and other cafes with more food options.

Lockers

Barcelona Nord Station doesn't have left luggage services, but it does have lockers where you can leave luggage for up to 15 days. Lockers are right in front of platforms 1- 7 and can accommodate from small to large, with prices ranging from €4 to €10 per day, depending on the size and time.

The station is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to platforms and adapted bathrooms.
